- Examination by your GP, including eyes, heart, lungs, hips, muscles – screening for important health problems such as congenital heart disease, cataracts, dysplastic hips and neuromuscular disorders. Early detection of a problem can mean the difference between a good and a bad outcome
- Opportunity to discuss feeding, sleeping, and check on any other concerns you may have about baby
- Immunisations to help protect baby from infectious diseases – these start at 6 weeks, and it is important to vaccinate on time to give baby their best immune defence
- Post natal check
- A check for mum around 6 weeks is a great time to check on general wellbeing, healing after delivery, breast health, mental health and contraception plans
- Wellbeing team
- Our health improvement practitioner and health coach are available to give free advice and support around mental health and wellbeing, including managing mood, stress and relationships
